Do you have Google Toolbar installed? With PageRank feature turned on??

I've recently read that the 'site speed data' within Google's Webmaster Tools > Site performance "is collected directly from users who have installed the Google Toolbar AND have enabled the optional PageRank feature." (Webmaster Central Help Page)

This seems rather limiting to me.

It strikes me that the only users who would have this featured enabled are other web designers/developers (who have also agreed to G's privacy policy regarding the submission of all websites they visit)?! The G Toolbar is only available on IE and FF. Developers are unlikely to use IE as their main browser, and IMHO there are better extensions for FF for checking your Gmail (which unfortunately are NOT compatible with the Toolbar) and for checking PageRank.

I used to have the G toolbar installed (with PageRank feature) on IE8 (only for testing) but had to uninstall it as it appeared to be the source of numerous browser issues. I use other FF extensions that show PageRank, Gmail etc...

This forum may be a bit biased towards those involved with developing websites, but anyway, I'm curious...

I used to have it with PR enabled but it was really dragging down Firefox. I am now using 'Googlebar Lite' http://www.borngeek.com/firefox/googlebarlite/ - another FF extension as a lighter alternative. It doesn't have a PR meter.

I used to have a pagerank add on for Firefox, but dumped it. Pagerank does not seem to mean much, pagerank goes down, traffic goes up and visa versa.

I have it installed on IE8 but not on FF, Chrome or Opera.
