Default Google to use "site speed" measure in rankings.

I thought this news article on El Reg might be of interest to the Ariotekkers who dabble in website design or SEO.

In essence Google will use some unspecified means of determining how quick your page is to load and will rank it down in the search results if it's slow. There isn't a definition of how badly it'd hurt your ranking, or the definition of slow, but it might be worth reviewing your site design if search rankings is important to you.

I do not think this will make much difference, as for Google page rank it looks as if Google are dropping it.

Some of the slowest sites I visit are one's run by Google!
