    Default Twitter

I recently set up on Twitter with posts fed directly from websites and they seem to generating some traffic because Google in particular indexes them well.

Apart for that I'm not really sure what its about!

There is a forum add on for vB - vBTwitter

lol it works click thread tools and it sends the tweet to your twitter account. To enable it go into usercp > edit options and put your twitter account name and pass. Then in any thread go to thread tools and the option is there to tweet that thread :

    Default Dodgey...

I signed up with Twitter yesterday and within minutes I had 3 followers, one legitimate (Ariotek) for which I received an email notification and two that look decidedly dodgey, for which I did not receive any email notification. Is this common? Hhmmm, bit wary now...

I have had loads sign up, about two thirds are money making schemes and /or possibly bots, however I have had some well known companies sign up and I am getting traffic.

    Yes this is common

As malcom indicated, some of these are money making (scammers?) or pr0n promotions, as well as the usual mix of weido's and whackies out there

I tend to be fairly ruthless and block those followers who appear to fall into these categories

I've just seen the Ariotek twitter email so have jumped on to follow. That way i may get more advance notice of when things go down (as shamefully i do not pass by these forums as often as i should :o )

So, the users who manage to follow you without notifying you... are they hacking their way through?! Or using the API which might allow this sort of activity (although I don't see why it should)?!

Another minor twitter annoyance is the "Users are missing from Find People search results" ongoing problem. An account I created over 10 days ago still cannot be found on the 'Find People' search and another account that went through a name-change at the same time does (and doesn't get found under its correct name)! How long does it take?!
