Hi.
So, I've set myself up with IMAP access to one of my email accounts (it's simpler for me because that way I have access to it at work and on my phone too).
I want to set it up to use SSL, which seems to work fine, but of course the certificate is *.just4dns.com (in my case nairn.just4dns.com) - not a problem, but I have to keep authorising the cert, and I'd like it to be automatic.
So my question is, can I simply set my email client to pick up mails from nairn.just4dns.com:993?
I assume this will count towards my total bandwidth (which is fine - I don't get many emails).
Also an aside... what's the actual deal with the just4dns.com domains? They're owned by an American company by the looks of it, is just4dns only used by Ariotek?
That's it for the moment,
'bod

I'm sure Ariotek owns the domains. Registrant Contact: Whois Privacy Protection Service, Inc. is just what you see when the domains are registered with privacy turned on so your details don't show up on WHOIS searches etc. Costs just a bit more.

And also a little pointless when a quick google will turn up who owns just4dns.
If you want to use something like Whois Privacy Protection service you'd really need to use it from when you register the domain, and then never refer to it as being your domain in a public place.

Soooo... it's OK to set my email server to be nairn.just4dns.com, rather than mail.mydomain.com?

Re: Secure email access and just4dns.com
Right, following up on my own question, I just noticed that cPanel specifies the use of nairn.just4dns.com if using IMAP SSL.
Next question - anyone have any idea how I can get rid of the following message when checking mail using Windows Live Mail:
"The server you are connecting to is using a security certificate that could not be verified.
A certificate chain processed, but terminated in a root certificate which is not trusted by the provider."
I would guess that I could add the certificate in security settings, but... where can I get that from? It's just a bit of a pain having to click "yes" every time I check my mail.
And yes, I know I could use another email client if needed... I used to use Thunderbird on my old PC.
